I havent painted anything in a while due to lack of finding something I actually wanted to paint. This image fell into my hands while doing a entirely different project actually but I quickly realized that it would be pretty easy to paint and also look great on my wall. I always was a big Darknet Diaries (the podcast) fan and generally like the artwork.

Personally speaking this image is a allusion to the well known "birds arent real" conspiracy while the red touch gives it something "catchy". In a world with ever growing government and big tech surveillance, images like these carry more meaning than I'd like them to.

Speaking of... "This blog has never received a National Security Letter, gag order, or warrant from a government organization" ;) .

So, after my first try on regular paper I felt confident enough to give it a real try on a actual canvas.

For my first piece I wanted to start off with something simple, yet meaningful to me. Many people online will recognize me for my wolf avatars, so I thought starting with a wolf would be a good fit.

Looking back at it, it was way easier than I thought but I also quickly realized that the black from the outline, which I made with with the fineliner, and the black from the inside dont really match. Next on the todo was to actually get some colors.

This image always had a melancholic meaning to me. I associate it with late nights, lil peep songs and overthinking. Its now hanging in my bedroom.

I dont even know if this is from a real episode or some fan-art itself.

Simpsons family

I always liked the Simpsons and the general uplifting positivity that the style of it carried. After purchasing my first set of acrylic pens I wanted to paint something with lots of different colors and ended up with this piece. Its a nice beginner piece as it has no difficult color transitions and all outlines can be drawn with a black fineliner.

First try with projector technique

This is kind of a funny one and also the image that started my entire interest in painting. The reality is that I was never really good at looking at a reference image and then redrawing it buuuut I always had no issues exactly following already existing lines on paper. So I mounted a projector above my desk and simply started repainting the projected image. This here was the very first try to see if my idea even works at all. The keen observer might notice the print of the network report from my printer shining trough from the backside as I literally just grabbed a random scratch paper. I considered properly redrawing it on canvas but I figured that this wouldnt be in the spirit of Banksy and that the way it turned out is in itself ironically fitting, so I kept it like this.
